Overview

History

Back in 2007, Zappara, a wizard of Civilization IV modding, has begun to work on a new mod, named Rise of Mankind. Quickly incredibely popular, it attempts to simulate history, but was not intended to be a perfect historical simulator, like Rhye’s and Fall of Civilization; it follows mostly historical lines, but allows for those “What-If” scenarios to occur.

In 2009, another wizard called Afforess started to expand it even further with Rise of Mankind: A New Dawn.

During the years 2010-2011, the developement of Rise of Mankind slowly stopped and Rise of Mankind: A New Dawn slowly became the sequel of this wonderful mod.

In 2015, 8 years later, the expansion is now still developped, expanded, polished with still that love for modding. The actual mod manager is 45°38’N-13°47’E (don’t look on a map, it’s his pseudonym ;)).
